The migration to the new library system is almost complete. All library branches reopen on Wednesday, 4 November. Self-check machines are not available right away, so please be prepared for possible queues at customer service.
Self-service access to self-service libraries is unavailable from 4 to 8 November. Self-service libraries are open when the staff is present.
Login to the Finna web library, catalogue searches, and e-materials will be available again from Wednesday, 11 November. At the same time, library app Aapeli will be launched: The new library app Aapeli
Please note:
- Reserved items are no longer collected using a personal reservation number. Instead, reservations are arranged on the pick-up shelves according to the processing date. Read more here: Reservation pick-ups and notifications
- Notifications about reservation pick-ups are sent primarily by email to all customers. If no email address is saved in the customer record, notifications will be sent by text message. If neither an email address nor a phone number is available, notifications will be sent by post.
- No overdue fees will be charged for items returned during November. Any outstanding fees from the previous library system have been transferred to the new system.
- Borrowing restrictions from the previous library system have been carried over to the new system. These restrictions will not be lifted automatically once the outstanding fees have been paid. This restriction will also temporarily prevent access to self-service libraries. The restriction can be removed by contacting library customer service.
- An additional free reminder will be sent immediately after the due date for overdue reserved items to help ensure that high-demand materials circulate as quickly as possible.
- There is currently a delay in the processing of new materials.
Staff are currently learning how to use the new system, so customer service may be slower than usual. Thank you for your patience!
