All Libraries are closed from 20 October to 3 November due to a library system migration

A new library system has been procured to replace the current one. Due to the system migration, all library services are completely unavailable from 20 October to 3 November 2026.

During the library system migration:

  • library branches are not accessible to the public
  • customer service is closed
  • mobile library services are suspended
  • self-service libraries are closed
  • the web library is unavailable for logins and catalogue searches
  • e-resources that require a library card and PIN for access are unavailable
  • book return slots are unavailable
  • the acquisition of new materials is suspended
  • new reservations cannot be made
  • existing reservations are transferred to the new system

No due dates or reservation pick-up deadlines fall during the library closure period.

Library branches will reopen on Wednesday, 4 November 2026. Self-service library access and the web library will remain unavailable for a longer period. Existing library cards will work normally in the new library system.

Changes to the timetables of Mobile Libraries Aulis and Elina

The timetables of the mobile libraries Aulis and Elina will change on 1st of September. Some of the changes will already take effect from the beginning of August.

The changes have been made based on customer feedback, service needs, and the number of customers using individual stops. Some stops will be removed due to the closure of a nearby school or daycare centre. New stops have also been added to the routes. The aim of these changes is to improve the efficiency and smooth operation of the mobile library services.

Changes to school and daycare stops, as well as Elina’s Tuesday route on even-numbered weeks (in the area previously served by the Koillis-Savo mobile library), will take effect on 1 August 2026. All other timetable changes will take effect on 1 September 2026.

You can access the new timetables via these links:

Connecting a child’s library card to a guardian’s account

You can connect your child’s library card to your own account at the web library. This way you can renew your child’s loans without logging into their account.

You will need your own library card number and PIN code, as well as the child’s library card number and PIN code.

  • Login to the web library using your library card number and PIN code.
  • In the Your Account section, go to the Library Cards tab.
  • Click the Link library card / parallel card button (see the picture).
  • Add a name for the library card (optional), the child’s library card number, and the child’s PIN code. Then click the Save button.
  • The next time you log in, you can choose the library card you want to use in the Your Account section.
  • Even if the child’s card is linked to the guardian’s account, you can still log in directly to the child’s own account using the child’s library card number and PIN code.
