Reservation pick-ups and notifications

Kuopio City Library has introduced a new library system. As a result, there will be changes to how you collect your reservations and receive pick-up notifications.

Reserved items are no longer collected using a personal reservation number. Instead, reservations are arranged on the pick-up shelves according to the processing date. The change applies to all library locations.

Each reservation will still have a reservation number shown in the pick-up notification. However, the number will now be based on the date the reservation is processed and a sequential numbering system.

How to find your reservation
Example reservation number: 25-0011
1. Find the shelf section marked with the first part of your number. Example: 25-XXXX
This number indicates the day on which the pick-up notification was sent to you.
2. Next, look at the last part of your reservation number. Reservations are arranged in numerical order according to the last part of the number. Example: 25-0011
3. Take your item and borrow it at a self-check machine or at the customer service desk.

Reservations must be checked out with the same library card that was used to place the reservation. If the self-service machine does not allow you to borrow the item, please double-check your reservation number. If you need help, contact customer service staff.

The reservation pick-up notification will still include the title of the reserved item, the pickup location, and the last date for collection. You can also check the details of reservations awaiting pickup at a self-service machine and, in the future, through the web library and the Aapeli library app.

Notifications about reservation pick-ups are sent primarily by email to all customers. If no email address is saved in the customer record, notifications will be sent by text message. If neither an email address nor a phone number is available, notifications will be sent by post.

Instructions for collecting reservations are available near the reservation pickup shelves at all library locations. Library staff will also be available to help customers adapt to the new system. If you have trouble finding your reservation, please don’t hesitate to ask customer service for help!
