A new library system has been procured to replace the current one. Due to the system migration, all library services are completely unavailable from 20 October to 3 November 2026.
During the library system migration:
- library branches are not accessible to the public
- customer service is closed, phone calls and e-mails won’t be answered
- mobile library services are suspended
- self-service libraries are closed and self-service access is unavailable
- the web library is unavailable for logins and catalogue searches
- e-resources that require a library card and PIN for access are unavailable
- book return slots are unavailable
- the acquisition of new materials is suspended
- new reservations cannot be made
- existing reservations are transferred to the new system
- loan history will reset. If you want to keep the record of your loan history, save it as a list of Saved Items by Monday, 19 October.
- new arrivals alert should be turned off. You can re-enable the new arrivals alert when the web library logins are available again
There are no due dates between 13 October and 30 November. Starting 15 September, all borrowed or renewed Kuopio City Library items have extended loan periods. Remember to renew your loans!
Reservations will not be processed between 10 October and 3 November. There will be no reservation pickup dates during the library closure period.
Interlibrary loan ordering is suspended between 11 September and 8 November. Please remember to return or renew your interlibrary loans well in advance of the library closure.
All library branches will reopen on Wednesday, 4 November 2026. Self-service libraries are open when the staff is present. Self-service access is unavailable from 4 to 8 November. Web library will remain unavailable till 11 November. Existing library cards will work normally in the new library system.
